Urban homesteading can be a fun and fulfilling way to decrease your carbon footprint while learning useful methods for producing your own wholesome home staples. We will be exploring canning & preserving, animal husbandry and beekeeping, gardening and mycology, foraging and gleaning, home crafting and sewing, permaculture practices, and the use of native plants for both culinary and medicinal uses.
Shanon Dean and Rebecca Miller are the original duo behind the 30 Something Dames. We’re just a couple of young crafty, thrifty and adventurous ladies. Shanon puts “Suzy Homemaker” to shame and Rebecca is often referred to as “Becky Crocker”. Shanon has also started an Urban Homestead with her husband and they have 27 laying chickens, 20 meat chickens, rabbits, and well on their way to getting goats, muscovy ducks, and bees.
